Regional Sales Manager - Foodservice

Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager - Foodservice position is responsible for the development and growth of business with both national and regional foodservice suppliers. Additional
responsibilities include overseeing the growth of business with foodservice suppliers, including sales/marketing activities. Regional Sales Managers report to the President/V. P. of Sales and
Marketing.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Increase revenue through the generation of new accounts and the management of assigned accounts
- Call on prospective customers, establishing buying groups and creating a customer-supplier relationship
- Research customer needs and develop application of products and services
- Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner
- Secure and take orders, taking into consideration delivery dates and inventory levels for fulfillment
- Report field information back to the V. P. of Sales & Marketing (competition, pricing, etc.)
- Participate in trade shows and manufacturers. conferences (exhibiting and/or attending
- Participate in sales forecasting and planning
Secondary Functions:
- Assist other departments with customer interactions (e.g., Accounts Receivables issues)
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills, with emphasis on closing the sale
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups
- Proficiency with current software packages such as MicroSoft Word and Excel
Education/Training Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Two to four years of experience with managing foodservice distributors
